Dental crowns

Types of dental veneers

Full porcelain (ceramic) crowns:

They are characterized by their aesthetic appearance and great similarity to the color of natural teeth.
They are usually used for front teeth because they provide the best aesthetic appearance.
They may be less strong compared to other types of crowns, but they are ideal for teeth that are exposed to less stress.
Zirconia crowns:
Made of zirconium, they are characterized by strength, durability and beauty.
They are resistant to corrosion and are an excellent choice for back teeth that can withstand stress.
They are also characterized by their beauty because they can be in a color similar to natural teeth.
Gold crowns:
They are very durable and have been used for a long time.
Although they are not considered cosmetic due to their golden color, they are one of the most durable and strong types.
They are usually used for back teeth that are not very visible.
Porcelain-on-metal (PFM) crowns:
Consist of a metal base covered with a layer of porcelain.
They provide a combination of strength and beauty, but in some cases the metal may show under the porcelain over time.
They are a popular choice for back teeth.

Resin (composite) crowns:

Less expensive than porcelain or zirconia, but less strong and durable.
Generally used for temporary or minor cases.
